Can I vote for "Oxydental"? Everyone knows that the title "After
Everything
Now This" is a cryptic reference to their inability to overshadow their
one
true masterpiece, and that AENT is really a collection of poor outtakes
from
the "Oxydental" sessions, not released alongside it for fear they would
be
too badly outshone, and somehow still promoted as some sort of "album" :P

Okeedokee.. Ah the inside source aye? And where exactly is this 'everyone
knows' stuff coming from? Yep and The Church paid off the critics to
praise the album right? We only need to listen to the album in order for
us to equate the title to the music. After repeated listens, since its
release, I still say the album is a masterpiece and easily hangs
alongside the other MASTERPIECE(S). My least favorite track on the album
is Chromium. In fact, Chromium is my least favorite track they've
recorded in some time.. Seems out of place to me on AENT.. To be honest,
as far as a jingle jangly typical Church tunes are concerned, I think it
falls short when compared to the many others they've produced. IMHO The
Church shine brightest when Kilbey writes the lyrics and handles the
vocals. Yeah, I know Marty worshippers will differ on this. I once read
on this list someone touting MWP as the only true singer in the band. I
can't disagree with this point with more disfavor. Kilbey has a magical
voice & his lyric without peer. One step further into the MWP front -
P.K. IS THE MAN!!!! Listen to Refomation.. The man is given no credit
for his brilliance.

Favorite AENT:

Night Friends/Radiance
