It's just keepin' the whole ball o' wax in perspective I guess and definitely keeping a sense of humour!!! ----- Yes, missy we do need to keep a sense of perspective (and am sorry to hear about your personal family loss), but I join lists such as this one to learn about the new records, gigs and what not. To read a lot of volleys about financing rock and roll is a digression that not only distracts from the topic at hand.... the ACTUAL MUSIC.... but it gets into areas where people have opinions -- which they are all certainly entitled to --- but our opinons really are not a hill of beans, nor are specific and momentary cultural concerns such as THe Church. Eons and millenia have already passed and what do we remember from the past? What sustains? What survives is anybody's guess. VIncent Van Gogh sold nothing while he was alive and it was his brother that carried on Vincent's legacy. WHen Steve Kilbey dies of an overdose, when Marty WIllson Piper collapses and croaks from exhaustion, when Peter Koppes gets old and dies and when TIm Powels explodes as all drummers do...... Who is going to carry on what is really the Church? Do the Church even know what their legacy will be? Nah. Will we even have CDs in the future and will their music make it to the next format? That's why I don't like reading threads about how great this band is - and facetious or not -- that everyone should kowtow and pay them and grant them big money.... I really would rather read about how people are reacting to the songs, hearing reports of set lists and how the gigs were... which don't get written about as much as I would like to see. I HATE IT when I read something that makes me squikked enough to diabtribe back. ANyhoo.... looking forward to Bowery Ballroom and hoping that the last Bowery happening isn't repeated. nancy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
