From: Greg Hatmaker, gregh@mpinet.net Subject: Feed me Seymour. I say, feed me! Date: 2/22/2002 10:28:06 AM To: seance@lists.no-fi.com It is not my intent to stir up divisive feelings between wombers and seancers, but from the meek protest of my subject line you can infer that I believe we are having a problem communicating news to *all* fans. Kai put it best, he simply doesn't have the time to canvass the womb. Hotel Womb is exploding, which is great, but it becomes harder and harder to read all of the Womb and all of Seance. So, if news is posted at the womb and it isn't posted in the forum you might expect it to be in...or, if you take a vacation and simply don't have time to wade back through it all, you miss out. But if you post on seance, it reaches everyone on the list. Some people throw out digests, and posts in HTML don't help either, but they still have the news at some point on their computer. Fault theirs for tossing it out. From my standpoint, it is just a matter of thoughtfulness and consideration. Little things still count most. And I think that it is a little thing, a thoughtful thing, that I'm asking for. I'm not trying to pull down the gods from the skies. I don't particularly care whether we are or we are not Neumann's little fishies (though it's a nice thought, and I'm happy for those wombers that Steve would give them that status). How difficult is it though for news to be passed on through two forums, even by proxy? Let me tell you, folks, we're not talking about inventing the wheel here, it's a matter of cut and paste. I find myself wondering how much I would miss out on if I didn't pour over the womb daily. I think it would be a mistake to believe that a mass exodus to the womb has made this list irrelevant. KLK, The Big Four, Various other people of Major and Minor importance, if you guys are listening out there, show us a little love, too. Please. cordially...with ice cream on top (cherry inside), g!
