There was a time (after MATS) that the Church recognized that it was the two online efforts (Seance and Shadow Cab) that kept them alive as a band. And now we're being made fun of after being faithful to the band through some very tough times? F*ck that! I've also visited Hotel Womb since it was started, and I certainly appreciate Dave's vast efforts on behalf of the community. I just could never seem to get the personal feelings I get with talking with other seancers. Perhaps the fake names every uses throw me off, but Seance is a MUCH more personal forum than the Womb. The worst part about this is that these feelings of resentment that some Wombers seem to have for Seance are basically dividing an already tiny community. It will do no good for the Church to have the fans bickering. One of the reasons I've stuck with Seance since 95 or so is that (at least in the past) people really try to help each other out...if someone finds a CD that someone else needs, it has never been about profit. It's all about sharing great music. I've always thought that perhaps it was wasteful to have two discussion forums for the Church. I know it's possible to have a mailing list that is archived on the web in a forum style like the womb...perhaps it would be better to have ONE list that is available in both email and the web. Cause face it, I bet 99% of newcomers to the online Church community are going to head straight for Hotel Womb instead of Seance. It's just more visible and easily accessible. I love seance as it is, but I guess I can understand why others would prefer a web format. tony Tara wrote: > > You know, I've thought long and hard about writing this post.
