There's a great definition of a music journalist from somewhere that I 
can vaguely remember and it goes something like this "A person who can't 
write, writing about people who can't sing for people who can't read"

I'm sure that's not exactly right and can't remember where it's from 
maybe someone can correct/illuminate me..............
