Perhaps I should have added that as I read the quote, I was encouraging ALL of my students to be their own critics, and not to just rely on other people's opinions when looking at art. Of course I meant no offense to anyone making a living as a critic and yes, we're ALL critics at one time or another. Who doesn't criticize a book, a movie, a play, etc. after they've seen it? Hey - I'll be the first to admit I wouldn't have a clue as to how to be a professional critic, but it can sometimes be a controversial position to be in, hence the quote. Sorry if I offended anyone, I just thought it was an amusing quote that can sometimes ring true of some critics, sometimes. I should have clarified my statement. Apologies. Denise
