Yesterday I read a great quote to my Art Appreciation class about critics 
(this was of course, referring to art critics specifcally, but it can of 
course apply across the board)...anyway, I've lost the piece of paper the 
quote was written on but it pretty much went something like this:

"A critic is like a eunuch in a harem. He knows how it's done, he sees it 
done every day, but he just can't do it himself."
