As much as I love Steve's music and the Church's music, I find some of the comments he/they've made about the list a bit hypocritical, judgmental, arrogant and just plain ignorant. I'm certain all the money they make off us isn't considered "weird" by their banks and haven't they um, used the list for just a few things....like selling instruments, asking for artwork submissions for CD covers, etc. (Granted, the fans willingly participated in these activities, but we're not too weird when it comes to wanting money or work). Is it "weird" to play shows in front of a "weird" audience? I'd really like to know. And I wasn't aware Steve et al knew each one of us personally and intimately in order to be able to make such sweeping judgments. I've no doubt he's run across some VERY strange fans in his life (what musician hasn't?), but really, talk about biting the hand that literally feeds you. But for the "weird" fans, Skilbey wouldn't have a pot to piss in or a pipe to smoke in. That being said, I still adore the new album, and am looking forward to the shows and I hope that Marty chooses ALL his tour oufits by the bar, because ya'll know how weird I think THAT is. ; ) Denise (who seriously got up on the wrong side of the bed today and PLEASE don't flame me for this because I have a raging sinus headache and I'm just in a bad mood and this is one of those areas where I'm really sensitive and oh yeah Tara I liked your original post)
