Well, I didn't notice that, but Yo La Tengo is one of my favorite bands, and Big Day Coming is a great song.  I've always enjoyed the similar tone of the music of both bands.  Their lyrics are very different, which actually enhances the beauty of their respective music.  Also, both bands do not compromise and continue to make a career and living out of music they enjoy making.   marc

Anyway, has anyone else noticed the similarity between Invisible and Yo La
Tengo's 'Big Day Coming' (the long version) off the Painful album? It's
probably just me, but I find those songs to be kindred spirits in tone,
feel, and pacing. Somehow they both evoke a very melancholy, wistful feel
and are quite amazing songs in their own way. If I were to make a top 20 CD
of melancholy tunes, both those songs would have to be contenders. The
percieved similarity hit me the other day and I just had to ask if anyone
else may have noticed it...
