About time they finally opened that one up. I was there last June and they still had ads in the classifieds running about buying huge record and CD collections for the new store. The ad said it was going to open up by Christmas, but better late than ever. I plan on hitting up this place and I wish they would open up one up here. All we have is Cellophane Square, which was bought out by Django Records from Portland. Also, there are some indie shops around, but too small for my taste. I like places like Rockaway Records, Record Surplus, Aarons, Moby Disc, Poobahs, Record Rover and Rhino. I miss L.A. and those fabulous record stores. Cahuenga and Sunset? Wasn't there a Jack-In-Box there? Or a gas station? Now I have to go back and visit again. Nothing like walking into a shop, perusing through vinyl and CD's and coming across that rare gem that makes it all worth while. Does anyone know if Record Rover is still around? I heard the boys use to love going there. There use to be an autographed copy of Heyday on Vinyl behind the cash register on the wall. I recall it said something to likes of how ugly those shirts were, or something along those lines. I think only Marty and Peter scribbled on it. Also, a guitar store next to Guitar Center on Sunset, I think it's called Voltage Guitars where they sell old Ricks, had a poster of Starfish with an autograph of Peter on it and something about thanking VG for the Ricks and Fender Teles, I think?. Is that still there? Anyone know? I love that shop. Miss that one too.
