I've just gotten back from Canberra, where I saw the band play at Tiley's,
in preparation for their US tour. The show was fantastic. It was definitely
much better than the show I saw in Melbourne, earlier in the year. I think
there were 2 reasons for this: first, Steve and the band were genuinely
having fun, with Steve and PK making jokes about Canberra - PK commented
that SK was from Canberra, SK disagreed saying he lived in St Kilda
(Melbourne) where he studied English Literature under Nick Cave; secondly,
they played a lot of their new material but weaved it through older material
(unlike the gig I saw in Melbourne where they played the new material
straight).
