Just wanted to say that was a pretty courageous and thorough post. Although
I hear everything you are saying, and think mostly the way you do on almost
every point, especially on my first listen (it is less challenging in many
ways), I still have to say that I like this album. I like where it takes me
and how it makes me feel. In retrospect, I feel the numbers single
stretched my ears and prepared them to be more accepting of this new album
and the possibility of a different sound. I don't think less of Steve for
letting his hair down a little bit on this one album or of myself for
enjoying it. Saturn, Thea, Poseiden and the rest of the cast and crew can
take a back seat to the simple human emotions that created them in the
first place, if only for an album.

However, this album is three years old. It's time for a newer new one.
Maybe during the tour Steve and the rest will close the doors, summon the
Kraken again and really shake the shoals.
