From: Dddaydreamer@aol.com Subject: AENT - 4th listen (with headphones) Date: 2/8/2002 7:31:24 PM To: Seance List, seance@lists.no-fi.com Very subtle, "quiet" album. Needs to be listened to without distractions. I find myself skipping Numbers cuz it doesn't quite fit. I love Numbers, but I wanna hear Undo and Oxydental right after it. The Awful Ache just about makes me cry. But that 3/4 time middle eight is like being pulled out of a nice warm jacuzzi and being forced to sit in the cold air before being allowd to immerse oneself again. I guess that might be a good thing, makes one appreciate the warmth that much more ? ~ whatever. I still think the space would have been better spent with, lets say, one of PK's beautiful guitar solos? Or even piano, but something pretty. I think someone overdid it with the "voices", especially on Seen It Coming. I LOVE the monitor mix of this song and IMO its the guitars at the end that really make it, but on the album version they're drowned out and all I hear is this damn chorus. I could also do without the "yeah yeah yeah's" etc, in Song for the Asking. I think Chromium should be the next single. I LOVE that scratchy-string thing in Invisible. In fact I love everything about this song. Definitely the hilight of the album for me. (is "radiotronics" that weird thing I hear that sounds like a little bit of fuzzy guitar - only cuts off abruptly - over and over again?) The music is so exquisite, it makes me crave more instrumentals from this band. Sandy
