I also like the "new" sound in a way but I really would like the melodies and especially Steve's voice to stand out more in the mix. I think that he has such a good voice that it can be given a more central possision in the music. I like the "radiotronics" and the atmospherical (how do you spell tihis ?) sounds a lot and I think it's good that they don't redo BC over again. I listen a lot to Bill Nelson and the likes. But I can't help having this feeling that I hear the music from behind a veil or curtain. I can hear it's really good, but I want to uncover the veil and really hear it :) I have listened to the album in my little studio using 3 different sets of speakers in a quite controled environment. Even though I have my doubts about the production a think it's a great album. ( I will burn a new CD and replace Seen It Comming with the preview/monitor mix though.) I think you are right about listening to records a lot of times makes it easier to pick out melodies and the vocie for instance. I like it when there is a lot to explore but I would prefer the intimacy of Steves voice to be reproduced in a more natural and crisp way. I think that is a big part of what made me like the Church in the first place. Or maybe I'm just getting old :) All the best, Par > I think the production on the album is nothing short of amazing, and I don't > think anything is really buried in the mix.
