"and the colors take me down"(Chromium/It's no reason) "never really know what I was looking for" (After everything/UTMW). Also, is anyone noticing that break in The Awful Ache is very familiar? Also a bit like "No New Tales to Tell" on Reprieve. I love the layers of voices on this album, and how Steve and Marty's voices blend. Much better harmonies than I think I've ever heard from the Church. I'm so glad they bothered to really try hard this time. Sometimes they are just a little too reserved (one of the things I like about them) but change is a good thing. Chromium has a bit of a '70's sound to the chorus. I am now able to laugh at the reviewers who didn't like it. Single-wise, I think the title track would be a great choice. People who liked UTMW would dig it. I thought that from the first listen to the bootleg. It would appeal to the public, but not be crap, which is sure hard to do. I think the overdrive effect on Marty's Chromium vocals are well-suited. They temper the harshness. The mix is very bassy; sounded crappy on my mini-earphones. On the home stereo though, with bass cut a little and treble boosted a little, it sounded perfect. It is a much more transparent mix than HOB to me. Love the backup vocals going yeah yeah yeah yeah. Brian H. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
