I'm still absorbing this album, but I like the mix a lot so far. I'd call it lush and full-bodied. They are really into putting a lot in there with piano and keyboards and backing vocals, and I think Tim did a fine job of turning it into a big beautiful swirl. I think it also will reveal its charms with time and close listening. marc -----Original Message----- From: Brian Turner [mailto:brianlturner@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 8:16 AM To: pe@mech.kth.se; seance@lists.no-fi.com Subject: Re: AENT review This reflects my feelings toward AENT as well. The songs on the album are some of the best ever by the band, but the mix really takes away from the songs. Everything is too "muddled. I would like to see the Church record with someone like Bob Ezrin or use Gavin MacKillop (from Priest=Aura) again. Great record, but terrible mix.
