Ceedees are just so freakin' miniscule. Even the grandest of packaging, box sets included pales in comparison to a simple gatefold album cover with nice photos and FULL SIZE great art. ... >> Yeah, 12" has other great features- Try to do these with cd's! ?Split Enz's laser etched LP "True Colors" (one of it's singles was etched too) ?"Destination Zululand" by King Kurt plays out from the label. ?"Pretty in Pink" by the Furs came with a free T-shirt. ?"Eve's Volcano" by Julian Cope was sealed with a subway sized poster. ?The Mary Chain did a single w/ the Sugarcubes and there are TWO grooves on one side. Two versions and you didn't know which one you'd get when you drop the needle. ?If I had GAF on LP, I'd be able to find (finally) Marty in his background picture. There seemed to be more attention paid to details with the bigger covers. Lyrics were legible too. There was also colored vinyl and shaped discs were mainly 7". Every once in a while though, someone tries to do the right thing and issues a poster booklet for the cd, but when you open it up, it's marred by the sharp fold marks needed to fit the bloody thing in the case in the first place. But the ONLY praise I have for the cd booklet is that they can be scanned easier and I can make desktop pictures for my computer. Currently I have P=A minus the black borders. If anyone wants a jpeg of it, just email me. Brian -o0o-
