From: Susanna, kascam@bigpond.com Subject: bad boys of rock! Date: 12/6/2001 1:47:05 AM To: Seance, seance@lists.no-fi.com Hi, My mum sent it to me of all people!! Mum follows a church of a different kind :) An article from Melbourne's Herald Sun THE CHURCH LOSES CONGREGATION "The old rockers all behaved themselves at the Queenscliff Festival last weekend, well almost. Billy Thorpe was a peach and Richard Clapton was fine, but the Church, well... "They behaved like private school brats," our Eye spy said. First the boys wouldn't sign a large poster like other acts because they were "tired". Then frontman Steve Kilbey wouldn't wear a white "access all areas" wrist tag because it clashed with his outfit. And finally, when a punter asked them to play something vaguely recognisable, a band member sneered: "Get a life." Maybe the guys must think they're still big stars or something." Hmmm, maybe Steve's old 'mate' Stuart Coupeland was behind this article...actually, I think its kinda of funny ...for heavens sake, they played 8 oldies out of 10 songs!..but if anyone thinks its worth a response, send to eye@heraldsun.com.au BTW Steve said in an interview that they wouldnt go on "The Panel" (which is a very popular late night show here in Oz) because the producers insisted they do 'UTMW'. I had to agree with Steve, why shouldn't they be allowed to play their newer stuff, that song is so old now, and they have a single out for godssake! Did anyone pay attention to their music?? Sue C
