I was simply stating that this isn't really an issue of artistic rights and feeding musician's families like these bloated megacorps are protraying it. Face it, this is the 21st century version of "home taping is killing the record industry". It's bollocks. In the early 90s the scapegoat was used resellers - they were killing the industry that was selling CDs new at a list price of $16.98. Now it's digital music. Funny - sales aren't down, though. Record labels have made so much money off the labor of their indentured servants..err, artsists that is...that it makes me physically ill every time I walk past a record shop. Wanna talk thievery? CD sells for $16 $5 of that goes to the retailer $10 of that goes to the label (though a few bucks of that recoups production & distribution costs) $1 of that goes to the artist(s) & their management, attorneys, etc. (Your Best Buys and Circuit Cities sell a bit cheaper and take less profit.) Doesn't really seem fair... Anyway, I admire your principles. However, if you happen to own a single copyrighted recording on a dubbed tape, CD-R, or any other format that was not prerecorded and sold to you sealed, you are a hypocrite for calling Napster users thieves.
